Diving in the sea question by Ragy El-Masry: Which is better for diving, Marsa Alam or Sharm El Sheikh?
Hi Guys,

I am planning a diving trip for my friends to the Red Sea for diving, and I was wondering which is better for diving, Sharm El Sheikh or Marsa Alam? I heard a lot about Marsa Alam but never gone there.
Also the trip will be in November, so does thsi affects the choice?

Thanks

Diving in the sea best answer:

Answer by Natanaël
Hi, I’ve been diving in Sharm in April 2006, and Marsa in September 2009. To me, there is no real difference. All depends on the spots you go to dive, there are nice spots in both places. In Sharm there is a natural reserve (Ras Mohammed), where the corals are well preserved. But in Marsa, there are much less divers and so the nature is preserved too.
I wish you nice dives.

Under the Sea Activities While Scuba Diving in Bali

Article by Isiah Giblert

When you think of Bali, or someone has mentioned Bali to you, the first thing that will come to your mind are the lovely beaches and mesmerizing islands. In Asia, it is one of the most talked about place whenever a tourist visits it.

Bali has evolved from just enjoying the sea with their lovely beaches. They have ventured in scuba diving already. Scuba diving in Bali has designed package that every tourist or divers will enjoy while doing this activity. These package range are for the novice divers to the more experienced ones.

Safari Dives

Most of the diving agencies will offer you Safari dives where you will experience the usual diving activities. Either you can swim with the other divers or you can have it at night if you want to see fewer divers with you. Divers prefer it this way as they have more time and more space to navigate around the sorrounding. Moreover, if you like to do your diving in early morning hours, you can also have these people guide you and be with you during your diving experience.

Wreck Diving

Bali also offers wreck diving where one can experience navigating around a ship that has sunk in the sea and has been there for many years. You can also find many marine life waters since this wrecked ships is also known as the man-made sanctuary of different colonies.

Drift Diving

Drift diving is becoming more popular nowadays. This is not for novice divers though. This activity is for advance or professional divers. It is where the divers do not do much swimming. What it does is that divers swim with the current. It is where the flow of the water is the one controlling the diver not the other way around which is the usual activity during traditional diving. This is dangerous because the water is pulling you away and you are uncertain where it will lead you. However, for your safety, a boat is following you on top in case the current becomes too strong. A spot where there is less marine life swimming around is the suitable for this kind of diving so if you like to see more sea life creatures, you may opt for a more kind of diving experience.

Under The Sea Photography

This is also one of the under the sea activities that is becoming so popular nowadays. In fact, it is included in the courses offered for scuba diving. Now, you will have a more clear memory of what you have experienced under the sea by taking photos of it. If you are not a photographer and you want to have some photograph of you taken while scuba diving in Bali, you can ask some to have your picture taken as well.

Tentacles of a sea cucumber (Psolus phantapus) buried in the sand.

Scuba Diving with Children in the Red Sea

Article by Lilah Tusko

Many people with children put off the idea of taking a scuba diving vacation because they feel that it will be too challenging or dangerous for their young children. While junior divers cannot be certified until the age of 12, there are plenty of diving opportunities for young children out there if you know where to look. Just one of these scuba diving adventures can be found on the shores of the Red Sea.

On the Israeli Coast of the Red Sea, there is an exciting open sea facility made just for families with small children who wish to go scuba diving or wish to get acquainted with it. Of course, the amount of scuba diving activity that your children can take part in will depend on their age, water skills, and desire to learn.

Before you even begin planning your family scuba diving vacation to the Red Sea you should get your children used to the idea of going scuba diving. You can do this by introducing them to toys, videos, and CD Rom programs that are designed to familiarize children with scuba diving.

Another great way to get your children excited about the idea of going scuba diving in the Red Sea is to take them snorkeling. Snorkeling can also be a great training tool. By teaching your kids to perform certain underwater maneuvers such as picking up coins off of the ocean floor and weaving through hoops and other obstacles, you will teach them the basic skills of scuba diving maneuverability and you will get them used to being submerged under water for long periods of time.

Once you have covered the basics, you will need to choose a dive destination that is perfect for your family. The scuba diving location mentioned earlier on the coast of the Red Sea might be the perfect spot for your first family scuba diving vacation. The park is called Dolphin Reef and it is located in Eilat, Israel. It is an open sea facility where families can swim and dive with dolphins in their natural habitat. Dolphin Reef also offers diving courses at their advanced scuba diving center along with diving expeditions to the Sinai and Jordan.

Keep in mind that your children will probably not be able to participate in all of the scuba diving activities to be found off the shores of the Red Sea, so be sure to plan a good deal of dry-land activities as well. Remember; if you choose a destination that is family friendly, you will not have to leave your children out of all of your underwater activities and you will be laying the groundwork for future scuba diving vacations. And just think; you may even instill a love of the underwater world into your children that will stay with them for the rest of their lives if you plan a family scuba diving vacation to the Red Sea.

Scuba Diving in Southern Queensland

Article by Romela de Leon

Southern Queensland’s water is among the top final resting places of wrecked ships. Because of this, it is haven for a lot of reef divers. Wrecked ships attract a great deal of fishes in the sea. It is new environment to them, which leads these aquatic species to start off their new habitat in these distinct places under the sea. These are certified fish magnets.

Apart from seeing ship wrecks, scuba diving in Southern Queensland means witnessing the grandeur of its underwater kingdom. The Sunshine Coast is filled with extraordinary sights of the aqua world. These include majestic sandstone formations covered with hard and soft corals. You can also explore numerous ledges, caves, pinnacles, and gutters under the sea.

In Southern Queensland, there are four top reef diving sites that are sure to bring a memorable experience to an adventure. These are the Inner Gneerings, Outher Gneerings, Murphy’s Reef, and Mudjimba Island. Depending on the diving site, there are numerous sea creatures to behold like the tropical fish, crayfish, sea urchins, anemones, bat fish, mackerel, starfish, sea whips, gorgonians, turtles, stingrays, nudibranches, Spanish dancers, cowries, coral trout, small groper, and bottom dwelling sharks like wobbegongs.

To start with, here are a few tips on scuba diving:

1. Do not get into contact with corals and marine life. Corals are sensitive that their natural beauty can easily get damaged.2. Avoid using gloves and kneepads in coral environments3. Make sure you are with an expert team if you intend to feed, handle, or photograph marine creatures.4. Practice proper finning technique and body control5. Never chase or ride marine animals6. Maintain normal buoyancy control7. Take nothing out of the sea except garbage

Most importantly, check first with your local authorities or reliable diving organizations if the group you are hiring for scuba diving is a professional and trained team. Check if they have encountered accidents before while reef diving. Safety is always the best tip before going out on any adventure above, or under water.

Diving in the sea question by Ashwin: What is the best way to holiday in Egypt, covering both the Red Sea and Luxor?
Hi there,

I am looking to spend 14 nights in Egypt but would like to divide my time between the Red Sea for diving (possibly Sharm-El-Sheikh) and also Luxor for the Egyptian ruins and Pyramids.

I believe these are quite some distance from one another so could anyone suggest the best way of doing the above in the best and cheapest possible way.

Many Thanks

Diving in the sea best answer:

Answer by Rahma
One of the best ways to holiday in Egypt is to book through an educational tour group, such as EF or ACIS. These are all inclusive tours. These tours are usually non expensive and you meet a lot of new people. They are usually also very busy. They are called walking tours, and that is what you do, walk, alot. However, I have used them both and had a wonderful time.

You can also travel free style. Educate yourself before you go. I bought a travel book from a bookstore that gave tons of information about the country, and different cities you can see, and other extras that you can do. For example, you can take a dinner boat tour on the Nile. You can also take a few days boat tour from Cairo down to Luxor/Thebes. You can also get a cheap guided tour of the pyramids in a horse and carriage. The drivers usually speak multiple languages and know the history of the pyramids in depth. Be careful though. If you do go to see the pyramids, there are several shops there that will get your attention, and your money. Not that this is wrong, just expensive. You can have your name handwritten on papyrus. You can have your own personal, one of a kind perfumes made in front of you. These are wonderful items, but something you can do without and spend that money elsewhere.

Sharm El-Sheikh is a resort town, therefore expensive. I recommend researching the amenities online and only book through a reputable site and a reputable hotel. Also make sure that when you book your hotels, some do not have A/C. The book I mentioned above will have a list of the hotels and what amenities they each offer. The book also gives a few phrases in Arabic to help you get around.

Cairo is a HUGE city and can be very confusing. The traffic is horrible, but unavoidable. It is like any other big city, only very hot. Be very careful. There is pollution and traffic is dangerous. If you are walking, stay away from the roadsides. Also be aware that just off the Nile on one side is most of the embassies. There will be men with guns guarding them. This is a good thing, but can be a little unsettling to some. There are many things to see in Cairo. Mainly the museum. It is a MUST.

Alexandria is also something you will want to see. Beautiful beaches, mosques, the bibliotech. So much to see. Alexandria is much cooler normally than Cairo as it is beach front.

Take into consideration the weather. It is very hot during the months of July/August. Luxor and the rest of upper Egypt is VERY hot during the summer months. If you are planning to travel during this time, wear light clothing, drink lots of bottled water. Eat only at a reputable place. It is easy to have stomach issues when traveling anywhere.

All of this is from personal experience. I hope you do go, you will have a wonderful visit. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been.

Website Design -sinking in the sea of Google

Article by suresh angaria

Every business wants their website to be in the top ten of searches in Google. Well, if you get some really simple things right you’re in with a big chance of making a splash. Working with your website designer is vital to your success!

Hire the right person for the job. The first thing to decide is who is going to build your brand new website; do you know enough to do it yourself? Or rather the question should be: If you wanted to build a house would you get a builder in or would you just dive in and do it yourself? Well most people would hire a builder, right? So even if you can do some of the work and design yourself you probably still need expert advice on the structural work. Ideally your web designer should be local to you, have a back catalogue and generally be a good fellow. For more information visit http://www.impacts-audio.com Many people go by gut feeling but if you can see what he, or she, has done in the past this should be enough to convince you. Most web designers get a lot of their work via referrals, so chances are you may know someone who has done business with a website designer and has been very satisfied with the results. Ask around.

What else to ask your prospective Website Designer. A few other good things to ask your prospective website designer are: 1. What internet Marketing Experience do you have? 2. Do you offer an SEO (search engine optimization service) in case I need it? 3. Who will maintain my site, and how? 4. Do I need to arrange the hosting for my web?

Work with your website designer.

First and foremost you need to know what you want, make sure you have a clear vision of where you want to take your business on the web. Also have a good idea of your websites theme; this is important as consistency is the key. A great way to show your business needs for your website is to draw up a site map- this looks like a mind map; and most top business entrepreneurs do this to brainstorm their business. This will save your Website Designer asking you lots of questions and also save both parties lots of time.

Get your content together.

This really important step is going to save you lots of time and energy; you need to make sure you have all your content or copy. I.e. written blurb about your products or service. Your web designer will be in constant contact with you in this area as this is where the optimisation (getting a good rank in search engines) starts. It is more important than graphics as the written word is what will drive traffic to your website from search engines and also convert clicks into customers and even repeat customers. This is where your web designers knowledge in marketing and SEO comes in very handy.. If visitors can’t find the information they are searching for, they will click away, perhaps never to return again.

Graphics and pictures.

You have already let your website designer know how you want your website to look – its always worth surfing on the web for similar sites to get an idea of the look you like. Email 10 or 15 different websites to your web designer with a few comments with each site that tell them what you like about different sections, pictures, tabs, colour, look or feel. You can visit http://www.magic-mini-site.com you also may have pictures of your products, logos and even a picture of your staff or yourself. If not your website designer will help you by buying in some pictures and graphics to fill the gaps. If you need a logo your web designer should also be able to design this for you.

Website Designer Feedback.

Your website designer will guide you through all the necessary do’s and don’ts of your website. From the the look of your site, to content or copy, privacy polices and navigation. Website designers are also very savy when it comes to how your prospective clients react to your new website and with all the info collected from you will then be put into best practise. Relevancy is the key and your website designer will build your new website with this in mind. This will maximise your visability on the web and give you a good starting point for the long term in your internet business.

Twenty Something Dives into Medical Coding

Article by Erin Lang Masercola

Robert Kiesecker, CPC, CCC first took the plunge into medical coding when the dive shop he worked for in high school laid him off. And his career has been swimming along ever since.Kiesecker passed the Certified Professional Coding exam while still in his late teens, and was the first coder in the state of Arizona to earn the AAPC’s cardiology certification – now called the CCC. These days he’s a cardiology coder and auditor at HCC Consultants in Phoenix. What happened after he got laid off from the dive shop in high school? “I put on my dress clothes and started looking for the best job I could find,” Kiesecker jokes. He landed a job as an “all purpose” medical office assistant – filing records, taking meeting notes, and “building desks.” He later took a similar job at a cardiology office, and was told to “hold down the fort” when the office’s medical coder left abruptly. While the practice searched for an experienced coder, Kiesecker learned what he could. As time passed, Kiesecker grew into the job, earned his CPC, and decided to try to earn the AAPC’s new-at-the-time cardiology specialty certification. Kiesecker did what many smart, young coders do…He turned to his local AAPC chapter in Phoenix to find a mentor who had passed the CCC. But because the test was so new, no one is his area had passed. Figuring he nothing to lose, Kiesecker took the exam and passed. What gave him a leg up? Looking back, being fresh out of high school helped him learn coding and pass the exams, Kiesecker recalls. “I was used to looking through books to find definitions,” he explains. The big disadvantage to coming into coding straight out of school was a lack of clinical experience, he says. He saw that former nurses or others with clinical experience could teach him a lot, so he sought out mentors through his AAPC local chapter and other coding events. These days Kiesecker sharpens his coding skills with EncoderPro, Supercoder.com, or “just googling to see what comes up.” Like many cardiology coders, he’s also a fan of Dr. David Zielske’s classes and reference materials. Where’s his next dive? What started as a temporary gig has become a “job that will take me wherever I want to go,” Kiesecker says. He’s working on a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, and recently served as his local chapter’s coding education officer. In the future, he’d would like to do more teaching, perhaps in a community colleges. He says the students he meets get lots of good billing knowledge in their college classes, but their coding knowledge is sometimes sketchy. That’s where he hopes to help out someday. Besides, he says, “teaching is an adrenaline rush.” Want some help preparing for your CCC certification?

Scuba Diving Locations

Article by Abel Smith

Scuba diving has long been a popular sport for travelers around the world. There is a certain excitement that comes with seeing the world as it is from beneath the ocean. The rich marine life and crystal clear water can make for an amazing vacation and one that will not be forgotten. Scuba diving will provide the thrill of a lifetime while also taking you to some of the most unique places on Earth.

Throughout the world there are several destinations which offer for great scuba diving. The Caribbean is one of these locations, and it is renowned for its diving. It’s no surprise that all three of the following dives are located there.

First off, when you are a beginner, you need not worry because there are a lot of good beginner diving sites that you can go out to. Not only that but there are a lot of trainers that will help you in learning how to dive. There are also a lot of good equipment that you can use when you want to go out and experience how to dive. In Boracay, you can experience how it is to dive and you can be treated to a wonderful scenery even if the site is a beginner site. However, as you progress to learn the different skills that you need in scuba diving, you can be assured that if you want a more challenging dive site, there other places that you can go to.

Hawaii scuba diving presents an assortment of beautiful tropical fish and some of the most gorgeous coral formations all through the island chain, which makes it one of the best scuba diving locations as well. Maui or Kauai is an excellent way to take pleasure in the marine life of the islands. Operators, resorts, dive boats, and dive shops are on hand throughout Hawaii. The warm water dives amidst large green sea turtles, hundreds of brightly colored fishes, and sharks, adds to the excitement and thrill of every scuba dive.

One of the most popular and best scuba diving locations, Florida keys boasts of lovely coral formations, luxuriously warm gulf water, and of course the abundance of tropical fish. Florida also offers thousands of dive locations that offer limitless diving adventure and packed with quality diving stores, operators, and instructors that can assist one to discover the best of Florida scuba diving.

Did two dives here, off of the Coral Cay Beach. I do not know the names of the spots as I dove with a non-english speaking fisherman (not recommended). The water was great, 85 degrees year round, but visibility was only about 100 feet, but I think this was due to the rough water (about 6 foot swells).

This diving was the best “terrain diving” I have ever done. There was not a whole lot of fish life, but the walls and reefs were incredible. The first dive was on a wall going from 60 feet to 180 feet. There were some large eagle rays and schools of grouper, but what held my attention was the sheer magnitude of the walls. They were totally covered with reef life and there were beautiful colors everywhere. There were lots of ravines and caves to explore, and although the bottom of the wall was unreachable at 180 feet, you could see it at all times, which made the wall seem enormous in perspective.

Dive Schools question by Mi: How do I dive without swallowing a lot of water and without doing a belly flop?
I’m a 15 year old girl and I can’t dive! Ever since I was 8 to 11 years old my swimming teatcher in school always tried to teach me how to dive but I always ended up doing a belly flop and swallowing tons of water. Even if i have my mouth shut the water goes up in my nose. It’s summer now so maybe I can train diving from a bridge.

Discovering the Underwater Earth – Scuba Diving from Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia

Write-up by Joanne Cotterill

Sabah is portion of Malaysian Borneo, found in south east Asia and is surrounded by the South China Sea on the west coast, Sulu Sea on the East coast and the Celebes Sea on the South Expense. Sabah is situated in the Coral Triangle – the Coral Triangle is known for staying property to some of the most diverse marine life in the world. Fortunately you don’t have to travel much in Sabah to recognize its tropical waters. Kota Kinabalu, the capital city, has Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park on it’s doorstep. The marine national park is only twenty minutes by boat from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah’s Capital and Malaysia’s youngest town. This helps make it a popular option for website visitors interested in diving, snorkelling, watersports or just chilling out on the islands shorelines. The relaxation of this post supplies an overview of the scuba diving websites situated in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park found just in entrance of Kota Kinabalu.

The Marine Park, named soon after Malaysia’s initial Prime Minister, came into existence in 1974 and at that time it was Sabah’s second Nationwide Park. It is property to 5 islands – Pulau Gaya, Pulau Mamutik, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sulug. The 3 busiest islands are Sapi, Mamutik &amp Manukan (each with the facilities to cater for travelers). All 5 islands are fringed by coral reefs and property to dive websites and areas ideal for snorkeling. With over 20 diverse dive web sites in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park the going to diver, or individuals wanting a attempt dive, really are spoilt for option. Let’s take a nearer look at the reefs encompassing every single of the islands and the selection of marine existence you can count on to see.

Sapi is the 2nd smallest island in the Marine Park. It is fringed by a reef on it’s east, south and west shores. Sapi Residence reef is almost certainly the most common dive internet site in the Marine Park for divers. It is house to a shallow coral reef, artificial reef balls and a sandy bay which is best for diver coaching. On the home reef you’ll see a wide selection of coral reef fish – Damsel Fish, Fusiliers, Barracuda, Parrot Fish, Wrasse, Puffer Fish, Porcupine Fish, Bat Fish – and it’s the most popular reef for browsing Hawksbill Turtles. Along the sandy lender you’ll discover some intriguing marine lifestyle also like Garden Eels, Blue Spotted Rays, Gobies, Lion Fish, File Fish, Puffer Fish, Anemone Fish, Pipefish, Flounders (identified locally as the Ikan Sebelah – or ‘side fish’), nudibranches and much more. The home reef is 3m – 18m with a sloping reef. It seldom has currents creating it ideal for a check out dive or a extremely relaxing dive either savoring the fish life in the shallow reefs, muck diving along the sandy place or checking out the marine existence around the synthetic reef balls.

There are also some good dive websites on the south coast of Sapi – Rons Reef and Rays Reef – the two have gentle slopping reefs from 8m – 18m and can be a great mild drift dive when the tides changing. Another great dive website on the west coast is the reef extension know as Clements Reef. Clements Reef has very fairly difficult and comfortable corals interspersed with coral cover boulders and Barrel Sponges. It is 8m on the top of the reef with a gentle sloping reef fringing the dive internet site down to amongst 18m – 25m. A good deeper coral reef web site.

Mamutik, a a bit quieter island, is property to a wonderful beach and two first rate dive sites – the fringing reef located on the north and western aspect of the island (which has a 10m x 5m patch full of anemones with Bogus Clarke Anemone Fish, or Nemo’s). It also has a dive internet site known as ‘the Pyramid’ situated off the west going through aspect of the island – so referred to as due to it’s form. The Pyramid is an intriguing dive internet site – it may possibly not have the very best corals in the Marine Park but it has fascinating critters on it’s slops (Nudibranches, Scorpion Fish, Shrimps and many others.) and usually has a big schooling group of Barracuda at the leading of the pyramid. The dive internet sites have the nicest circumstances for the duration of the North East trade winds (November – March) when they are much more safeguarded from the prevailing winds.

Manukan’s best dive websites are on the west coast, going through out to the South China Sea. These are most likely the least visited coral reefs by divers – as most Dive Operators don’t make the work to check out reefs that are the furthest distance from Kota Kinabalu. Normally you’ll be the only divers in the water when diving the west reef. Home to a shallow reef (5m – 12m) entire of large table corals with a gently sloping sand financial institution from 10m – twenty dotted with coral boulders. All around these coral boulders you can usually locate an intriguing blend of Nudibranches, Lion Fish, Shrimps, File Fish, Puffer Fish, Porcupine Fish, Moray Eels, Sea Cucumbers and a lot more.

Gaya is the largest island in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Whilst most of the island is fringed by coral reefs, the nicest high quality reefs (in phrases of coral coverage, wellbeing of the corals and combine of marine existence can be discovered at a small range of locations – Gentle Coral Backyard on the west coast (so referred to as due to the quantity of colourful comfortable corals covering it), Policy Bay and the reefs just to the east of Police Bay. Police Bay is a secured bay throughout the south west trade winds delivering for nicer visibility. The reefs in the direction of the edge of the entrance to the bay (on the northern suggestion) have lovely steep sloping reef walls from 10m to 25m – 30m and frequently have significant shoals of Snappers and Fusiliers.

Final, but by no means least, Sulug. Sulug has a ‘tongue shaped’ coral reef protruding from it’s north experience. The reef has a flat leading at 5m – 7m with steeper slopes which can get to 25m. The slopes are coated in coral coated boulders and bombies. It’s on the northern reef slopes exactly where you’ll uncover the most Orangutan crabs, a stunning array of Nudibranches and some of the most significant Gorgonian Supporters. If you’re lucky you could also get to see a Frog Fish or a Ghost Harlequin Pipefish throughout the mating period.

How to make a Big Splash in the Sea of Second Chance Dating

Article by TW Jackson

Getting back into the dating game might feel a little bit like diving into shark infested waters. To some degree this is an apt analogy but you might find that it isn’t as frightening to swim with the big fish as you’ve been led to believe.

Dating changes often but the basic rules remain the same. Keep these rules in mind when you find yourself dating again and hopefully you’ll enjoy better results this time around.

So, what do you need to do to make it through these treacherous waters and live to date another day?

Think like one of the big fish. This doesn’t mean to go in like some head bobbing, gold chain wearing, throwback to the disco era. You do need to have some degree of confidence and positive thinking to make it work well for you. Otherwise you’ll never get beyond asking her out.

Believe you’re going to hit it off and have a great time and you’re chances for first date success will improve significantly. There really is a great deal of power in positive thinking. There is an equal amount of power, on the flipside, in negative thinking. Make sure you use that power wisely and in your favor.

Don’t bring your ex along on the date with you. While most people would never even dream of bringing the ex along “in the flesh” so many people bring the ex along with bitterness, attitudes, and fears. A new date is a clean slate. Let it be your fresh start as well as a fresh start for the person you’re going out with.

Don’t hold her responsible for the sins of your ex and expect her to not hold you responsible for the evils of her ex. It’s a wonderful two way street that works well for the two of you. A third wheel on the date though isn’t fun for anyone.

Be your charming best. Even if it isn’t in your nature to be charming all the time, make a special effort on the first date. While it’s good to be yourself you can play up your fabulousness while downplaying your flaws to some degree. You might even accidentally overcome some of your more glaring flaws with a little practice at hiding them.

The bottom line is that you need to be prepared to put your best face forward, leave your ex at home, and be confident in yourself in order to enjoy a great first date when getting back into the dating game.

Diving in the sea question by Summer: How easy is a PADI diving course? urgent help needed please?
I’m 15 and went scuba diving for the first time in the Caribbean almost 2 years ago now.
It was great fun and i’ve decided that i want to get my PADI certificate, the problem being that i’m going to Sharm-El-Sheikh in about a month’s time so my instructor recommends doing an “open water referral” course where i do the work and pool dives in England at the pool and then when i go to egypt i finish off the sea dives there.
this means that i have to read all the books really fast (i’m in the middle of mock gcse’s right now) and i was wondering how hard/long it takes to read everything and then pass the exams?

only helpful comments please i’m getting quite stressed.

thanks x

Answer by phoenix32137
For my part , I took to the water like a fish , Im 60 Yrs old. The Equipment I found easy to understand and use,The book work is extensive , and diving is a serious business, you must study to pass. The hardest part for me was using the recreational dive planer , tells you on two tank dive ,what depth you can go to and what your bottom time is on the second dive , etc .I had to study hard , my instructor me every step of the way ..The only other trouble area for me was the compass test , while under water , had to do it twice , still I passed it.So is it hard , yes , is it worht it , off the charts YES…Pool dives will get you prep aired for your open water certification , a Must ..Study time for me was about 12 hours …Good Luck
