Diving With Whale Shark – Ras Umm Sid, Sharm El Sheikh, Red Sea, Egypt

Diving in the sea question by Ragy El-Masry: Which is better for diving, Marsa Alam or Sharm El Sheikh?
Hi Guys,

I am planning a diving trip for my friends to the Red Sea for diving, and I was wondering which is better for diving, Sharm El Sheikh or Marsa Alam? I heard a lot about Marsa Alam but never gone there.
Also the trip will be in November, so does thsi affects the choice?

Thanks

Hi, I’ve been diving in Sharm in April 2006, and Marsa in September 2009. To me, there is no real difference. All depends on the spots you go to dive, there are nice spots in both places. In Sharm there is a natural reserve (Ras Mohammed), where the corals are well preserved. But in Marsa, there are much less divers and so the nature is preserved too.
I wish you nice dives.

yea LKJO94, there are better dive stories and videos on the net. try the myscubastory site. type “dive stories” into google and its like the 12th result, on the 1st or 2nd page of google… youll find other good dive story pages but i think the myscubastory site is better as its dedicated to dive stories, accidents, sharks and videos – have a good one !

only a thousand words to discrive this animal:
    beautiful
    awesome
    cool
    etc.

  • stormonster says:

@nino46102 Most of the time they will just dive deep if they get annoyed :)
Don’t have any large teeth like a lot of other sharks do, so they wouldn’t bite you at least, although I guess they technically could give someone a fin-slap ;)
